In the Republic Day honours list released yesterday, the CPFS fraternity had much cause for rejoicing, with three scientists associated with it named for awards: Professors E.C.George Sudarshan (Padma Vibhushan), V.S. Ramachandran (Padma Bhushan) and T. Padmanabhan (Padma Shree). This improves on last year's sole award of the Padma Bhushan to the philosopher Professor Mrinal Miri.
